LEADERSHIP CAPACITIES FOR SYSTEMS CHANGE
INTRODUCTION TO THE INNER DEVELOPMENT GOALS
What if the most important variable in your ability to lead systems change isn't your technical expertise, but how you show up as a leader? In this session, you’ll be introduced to the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), a leadership framework grounded in research from 22,000+ academics and leaders across 194 countries, built on the principle that inner growth and relational capacity are the foundation for leading effective outer change.
Participants will explore the five dimensions of the framework: BEING, THINKING, RELATING, COLLABORATING, and ACTING, and complete a personal assessment to map their own leadership development journey.
To learn more about the IDGs, visit https://innerdevelopmentgoals.org/
Date: Thursday, July 9th
Time: 12:00-1:00 PM (PDT)

THE POWER OF PRESENCE
STAYING GROUNDED THROUGH CHAOS
The world is a lot right now. What if the most precious thing you can bring into this moment is your presence?
Presence is what allows you to stay grounded in complexity and uncertainty, and to lead through chaos rather than react to it. It builds trust, deepens connection, and in this session, you'll practice cultivating it.

Looking Below the Surface of Resistance.
A SYSTEMS THINKING TOOL FOR CHANGE LEADERS
Most change efforts focus on what's visible; the events, the behaviors, the symptoms. But what you can see is just the tip of the iceberg. Beneath the surface lie the structures, patterns, paradigms, and deeply held beliefs that are actually driving resistance.
In this hands-on session, you'll be introduced to the Iceberg Model, a systems thinking tool that helps you get to the root cause of resistance. You'll practice using it on a real challenge and leave with a framework you can apply immediately.

Design Thinking for Sustainability Leaders
Developed and popularized by IDEO and Stanford's d.school, design thinking is a human-centered approach to solving problems — and it belongs in every change leader's toolkit, not just product designers or UX teams. It transforms abstract sustainability goals into actionable strategies by bringing the right people into the room, building shared understanding, and creating solutions that stick because they were built with people, not just given to them to execute.
In this hands-on session, you'll move through the five core stages — Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test — applied directly to sustainability and systems change challenges. You'll practice the tools on a real problem and leave with a human-centered lens you can bring back to your work immediately.

Human-Centered Systems Thinking
3 TOOLS TO BRING CLARITY TO COMPLEXITY
Complex problems don't yield to simple solutions. The challenges we face — in organizations, communities, and systems — are tangled webs of relationships, cultures, and deeply held beliefs. To change a system, you first have to see it clearly.
In this hands-on session, you'll explore a set of complementary tools that help you do just that. Using the Iceberg Model, Empathy Mapping, and Systems Mapping, you will rapidly advance your knowledge of systems approaches to complex problem-solving and leave with practical tools you can apply to your most complex challenges.
